How to arrange immigration to the US?
The process of immigrating to the United States is long and complicated. The actual steps are fairly straightforward but the details can be quite involved. It is important that you know what the necessary steps are and that you actually follow them, this will give you the best chance of being accepted. If you make a mistake in the procedure it can take years to get things sorted out.
The first thing that you are going to have to do in order to arrange it immigrate is to determine under what category you will be applying. You basically have two options in this regard you can apply under an employment category or under a family category. In order to apply through employment most, but not all, applicants will need to have a job lined up and get their prospective employer to petition the government on their behalf. In the case of an application through family you would have to have a close family member already living in the US who would make the petition on your behalf.
Once the petition is filed it will be reviewed and if you meet the basic requirements you will be invited to an interview at the US embassy in your country. This interview is to determine the chances that you will be successful if you moved to the US. It will also be used to verify the information that is on your application. You will be asked to bring certain supporting documentation along that will be used in assessing your application. If the interview goes well you will move on to the next step.
The next step in the immigration process is to have a background check done. This will involve verifying the information that you have provided on your application. In addition there will be things like a check for a criminal record and whether or not you have been involved with an subversive groups. If you pass the background check you will be given a visa that allows you to move to the United States.
At this point you have been allowed to move to the US however you still don't have your green card. You will need to apply for this once you get there. If you have been approved for an entry visa then the process is just a formality, you will also be approved for a green card. You will be given instructions on how to apply when you are given your entry visa. At the same time that you apply for a green card you will need to apply for social security number as well since this is necessary to get a job. Once you have both your green card and your social security number you are a permanent resident with the right to live and work in the United States.
